Tyler Hamilton Hands Over Gold Medal
Cyclist Tyler Hamilton has handed over his 2004 Olympic gold medal to the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) reports The Wall Street Journal.
Earlier this year, Hamilton accused Lance Armstrong of taking performance-enhancing drugs while on the U.S. Postal Service cycling team. Ironically, Hamilton recently admitted on CBS's60 Minutesto using drugs throughout his cycling career, but not during the 2004 Olympics.
According to WSJ.com, "Hamilton delivered the medal to the USADA last week. The cyclist, who recently turned 40, saw his career derailed at its peak following two positive tests, once for a blood transfusion and again for a banned substance."
The USADA has also announced they will continue to work with the International Olympic Committee and United States Olympic Committee to determine the final implications.
